'What's Buzzing' explained

Stirthemix members are exchanging quick & frequent messages to share their love of drinks. They are having conversations about drinks they love, a nightspot they discovered, a new drink they tasted, for sharing a drink story, news updates, a drink ad they love, or a new cocktail they stirred up.

What's buzzing helps you discover and share new drinks; find and join interesting conversations; and follow interesting people.

Trail explained

A trail aggregates all activity updates of a member or a drink on their pages.

Member Trail: Your trail is updated every time you post a new update or perform activities on Stirthemix.

Drink Trail: A drinks trail is updated every time member @mentions a drink; and is also posted to all the Fans of that drink. This helps connect with and build contextual conversations with members of similar drink interests.

How can I join the conversation?

Just sign-in & use your shoutbox to post your status. All your posts land up on 'What's Buzzing' & your personal trail. This helps members with similar interests find you. Your trail updates link to your profile.

People visiting your profile watch your trail & follow you based on your interests. As your buzz grows, so your buzz spreads, and as more people discover you, your network grows.

Shoutbox commands

Send & receive communication from members & drink brands by using shoutbox commands.

@username - use this command to direct your message or mention a member, brand or company on Stirthemix

D - use this command followed by space to send a direct message (private message) to a member, brand or company.

Eg - D username

Your shoutbox follows you sitewide, except on the homepage & static pages.

Following explained

To follow someone is to subscribe to their activity trail.

Following helps you follow activity updates of people you are interested in. Your interest could be triggered by something they said, a drink review they posted, drinks they love, places they visited, and more.

You can start following a member by clicking the follow icon on their public profile or on people listing pages.

What are Treasures?

Pirate mind!

We trailed the seven seas for hidden treasures. We found some lying untouched in the caves of Newfoundland, others in the vast open sands of Nebraska, and some more under the misty clouds of Scotland. But we missed the 'joy of discovery' since we couldn't flash our treasures to the world. So we came up with an ingenious way of working around the problem. Get started by following drink trails. Discover treasures. Flash them instantly to the World.

Bar explained

Your Bar is organized in 4 sections, i.e. Top 5, Drinks You Love, Drinks You Tasted, Drinks You Would Love To Taste.

As a signed-in member, you can add drinks to your bar by simply clicking the icons on the Drinks Fan Page, or in Drinks Listing. The drinks are then featured in your bar. Stirthemix members can view your Bar. Your Bar help members look up your drinks interests & decide if they would like to connect with you.

You can organize your Top 5 drinks by changing the list sequence. As your real-world drink tastes & preferences continue to evolve, you can reflect those changes in your Bar. This helps you connect with Drink Lovers with similar tastes.

How do I find the right people to connect with?

Stirthemix is centered around your love for drinks. As love is personal, so is taste. You pick & choose who you want to follow based on your personal drink preferences - be it a specific drink brand, drink blogger, mixologist, or a drink lover.

Can I block people?

We are working on this feature. In the meantime, if you're being bothered by another member, email us their details alongwith your cause for concern to report@stirthemix.com.

Drink Fans explained

To 'become a fan' means you subscribe to the Drinks trail.

If you like a specific Drink (brand, cocktail, etc.) you can become a Fan by clicking 'become a fan' icon either on the drinks profile page or on drinks listing pages.

Why should I become a fan? Because you become discoverable to other members who Love similar Drinks, and you can follow conversations around your favorites.

Drink Fan Pages

Each Drink has a dedicated fan page on Stirthemix, and a 'title deed'. A title deed is a snapshot of the drink.

Here's just a few things you can do on the Fan pages:

1. Discover new Drinks and share them with friends
2. Add the drink to your bar
3. Send quick messages to fans
4. Follow Drink Fans

Company Pages

Company pages list the Brands associated with drink companies. Drink companies is only a reference point for associating drink brands with drink companies. This does not imply that the company in question actually owns the brand. The company may be categorized in any of the following or more - owner, producer, marketer, distributor, importer, license holder or a parent company.

Also, since drink owners continue to change hands due to mergers, consolidation or buy-out, this association is a shifting target & best managed by the companies. If a listing contains errors, please bring it to our notice at content@stirthemix.com.
