Information That You Provide

When you create or edit your Stirthemix account, you provide some personal information, such as your name, username, country, date of birth, email address, and password. Some of this information, for example, your username and country, is listed publicly on our Services, including on your public profile page and in search results. Your personal information is not be shared with anyone; including advertisers, without your permission. Your Public information made available by you is visible to everyone including advertisers.

Stirthemix may use information in your profile without identifying you as an individual to third parties. We do this for purposes such as aggregating how many people in a network like a drink and personalizing advertisements and promotions so that we can provide you better service. We believe this benefits you. You can know more about the world around you and, where there are advertisements, they're more likely to be interesting to you. For example, if you add a drink to your personal profile, we might serve you an advertisement highlighting a related drink event in your town.

Additional Information

You may provide us with additional information to make public, such as your bio, your city and state, or a picture. You may customize your account with information of your address book or invite your Facebook Friends so that we can help you find Stirthemix users you know. We may use your contact information to email you information about our Services or to market to you. Currently we do not allow you to unsubscribe from these messages. But you will be updated when such an option becomes available on Stirthemix. If you email us, we may keep your message, email address and contact information to respond to your request. Providing the additional information described in this section is entirely optional.

User Sessions

Once you 'sign-in' to Stirthemix, your session is set to auto-expire in 30 days until you do not close your active browser window. If your click 'Remember Me' during sign-in, your session is set to expire in 30 days until you click sign-out, irrespective of you closing your browser window or re-booting your computer. You may decide at anytime to expire your active Stirthemix session by clicking 'sign-out'.

Shoutbox, Following, Fan Lists, Drink Preferences And Other Public Information

Stirthemix is primarily designed to help you share information with the world. Most of the information you provide to us is information you are asking us to make public. This includes not only your updates via the shoutbox and the metadata provided with each status update, such as when you updated, but also the lists you create (including fan lists, and drink preferences), the people you follow, and many other pieces of information. Our default setting is always to make the information you provide publicly available. But we will inform you as we make the option available for to you to change these default settings to keep your data private (only visible to you). Your public information is broadly and instantly disseminated. For example, your status updates are searchable by many search engines and can be passed on by and to other users and services. You should be careful while submitting information and you understand that it will be made public by Stirthemix.

User Communications

When you send emails or other communications to Stirthemix, we may retain those communications in order to process your enquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.

Applications And Widgets

Stirthemix may make available third-party applications or widgets through its Services. The information collected by Stirthemix when you enable a widget or other application is processed under this Privacy Policy. Information collected by the application or widget provider is governed by their privacy policies. Stirthemix may make the applications or widgets it owns available on other websites, and your information associated with Stirthemix applications or widgets will be made available to users of that site. Information collected by our applications or widgets on such sites is governed by the Stirthemix Privacy Policy.

Other Sites

This Privacy Policy applies to Stirthemix Services only. We do not exercise control over the sites displayed on Stirthemix Content, sites that include Stirthemix applications, products or services or links from within our various services. The fact that we link to a website is not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third party. These other sites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personally identifiable information from you. We encourage you to read the privacy policies or statements of the other websites you visit.

Location Information

You can control your location information in your 'about me' tab by clicking 'edit setting' or 'setting'.

Log Data

Our servers automatically record information ("Log Data") created by your use of the Services. Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, the referring domain, pages visited, and search terms. Other actions, such as interactions with advertisements, may also be included in Log Data.

Like many websites, we use "cookie" technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve our Services, but we do not require cookies for many parts of our Services such as searching and looking at public user profiles or lists. Stirthemix uses Google Analytics to help understand use of our Services. Through Google, Analytics collects the information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, including cookies and your IP address. Stirthemix also receives this information and their use of it is governed by their Privacy Policy.

Service Providers

We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to us. We may share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these functions and provide such services, and only pursuant to obligations mirroring the protections of this privacy policy.

Inviting Your Friends Via Gmail, Yahoo, Windows Live, AOL, Facebook Or Direct Email Contact Via Stirthemix

If you choose to use our invitation service to tell a friend about our Site, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. We will send your friend an email or instant message in your name inviting him or her to visit the site, and may send up to two reminders to them. Stirthemix stores this information to send invitations and reminders, to register a friend connection if your invitation is accepted, to allow you to see invitations you have sent, and to track the success of our referral program. Once your friend accepts your invitation, Stirthemix connects your profile to your friends. Your friend may contact us to request that we remove this information from our database by emailing us at privacy@stirthemix.com.

Compliance With Laws And Law Enforcement

Stirthemix cooperates with government and law enforcement officials or private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We may disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims, legal process (including subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of Stirthemix, the public or any person, or a third party, to prevent or stop any illegal, unethical, or legally actionable activity, or to comply with the law.

Business Transfers

Stirthemix may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your personally identifiable information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy. You will have the opportunity to opt out of any such transfer if the new entity's planned processing of your information differs materially from that set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Information Security

Stirthemix is very concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your personally identifiable information, and we take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. We employ administrative, physical and electronic measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access.

We restrict access to personal information to Stirthemix employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Accessing And Updating Your Personal Information

Access and control over most personal information on this Site is readily available through the edit profile option. Stirthemix users may modify or delete (the delete feature will be made available to members in an upcoming production release) any of their profile information at any time by logging into their account. Such information will be updated immediately. In the interim, members who wish to deactivate their Stirthemix account may do so by emailing us at privacy@stirthemix.com with the subject: 'delete account'. Removed information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time but will not be generally available to members of Stirthemix.

Where you make use of the communication features of the service to share information with other individuals on Stirthemix, however, (example: sending a personal message to another Stirthemix member or user) you generally cannot remove such communications.

Our Policy Towards Children

The Site is not directed to persons under legal drinking age in their City, State, Country of residence. In any case, individuals under the age of 18 (legal drinking age in most Countries) are not to enter this Site by using wrong means. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personally identifiable information without their consent, he or she should contact us immediately at privacy@stirthemix.com with the subject 'age concern' & the members account details. Stirthemix will respond promptly with appropriate action.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

Your use of Stirthemix, and any disputes arising from it, is subject to this Privacy Policy as well as our Terms of Service and all of its dispute resolution provisions including arbitration, limitation on damages and choice of law. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service at any time. All changes and clarifications will take effect immediately after their posting on this Site. If we make changes, we will post them and will indicate at the bottom of this page the policy's new effective date.
